Community Development and Facilities Manager at Pennywell Community Centre

Pennywell Community Centre welcomes applications from suitably experienced candidates for the role of 'Community Development and Facilities Manager'.

This role is pivotal to the development and future sustainability of the centre. The vacancy comes at an exciting time for the centre as its Trustee Board prepares to modernise the centre's community programme and to transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

 The centre benefits from a central location within the community, is well appointed, boasting a sports hall, a multi-use hall, digital suite, catering kitchen and numerous small group rooms. The centre is well used and has long standing arrangements with hirers offering a variety of sports classes. Other activities benefit children and young people and retired residents.

The successful candidate is likely to have wide experience, encompassing community development or youth work, business development, facilities or events management and bid writing.

On offer is a fulltime position with an attractive salary and favourable holiday entitlement.

I am Tracy Hassan, Sunderland Voluntary Sector Alliance Manager. I have been with the Alliance since September 2021.  Over the last 2 years we have been working with the sector listening to what is important and developing our service offer to support the sustainability and growth of the voluntary and community sector across the city. We are now building a team looking for people with the knowledge, skills, experience and passion to make a difference.
