Hadrian Trust is offering grants of between £500 and £2000 for not-for-profit groups to deliver projects and activities that improve the lives of people in the Northeast of England (defined as the old counties of Northumberland and Durham).
Funding can be used for running costs, project costs, part salaries, and basic equipment under the following headings:
- Social Welfare - the disadvantaged, people with debt, prisoners, ex-offenders, or those at risk of offending and their families, community centres, hospices,and homelessness projects.
- Youth - young people's potential especially those facing economic and social disadvantage, ex-offenders, anti-social behaviour, youth clubs and groups providing alternative curriculum activities.
- Disabled or Elderly - engagement with the wider community, support to remain independent, and engagement in employability, leisure, and educational opportunities.
- Women - victims of domestic violence and their families, support to achieve work and leisure aspirations, groups and activities that promote women's rights and equality of opportunity.
- Ethnic Minorities - encourage equal opportunities and integration through education, employment, and social inclusion projects.
- Environment - local community activities that improve the environment, sustainability, and social, educational, and leisure activities.
- Education - community-based educational opportunities that improve quality of life for all ages, including those with limited access to education, and support young people's future aspirations.
- The Arts - community-based arts projects that bring people together to appreciate, enhance, understand, and enjoy music, dram,a and dance.
The trustees meet quarterly usually in January, April, July, and October. Applications should be received at least three weeks before the meeting date.
The next deadline for applications is 1 July 2025.
