Grants of up to £5,000 are available for constituted community groups, registered charities, and other not-for-profit organisations to deliver projects and activities in communities across the UK where Clarion operates that support residents to celebrate, commemorate, and increase connections to the places they live.
The Making a Difference Fund will support activities such as:
- Celebrating key figures or historical local events through the creation of public art, murals, or exhibitions to engage the wider community and celebrate their local area.
- Bringing people together to showcase the cultural diversity of their neighbourhood through creative events and activities.
- Organising community cooking classes to share and enjoy cuisines from across the community and create a cookbook based on resident recipes.
- Creating a local history trail to celebrate and share places of interest in the local area.
- Creating new or revitalising underused green spaces to bring the community together, through gardening, growing, or just providing space for neighbours to meet and connect.
Proposed projects should demonstrate an understanding of what is already on in the community, and how the grant will, for example:
- Reach new participants, such as those who may be missing out or who are considered underrepresented in accessing services and activities.
- Address gaps in local provision where there is no similar or existing offer.
- Make the best use of other local services, partnerships, or networks.
Priority will be given to projects that meet the following priority areas:
- Celebrating the uniqueness of the neighbourhood.
- Creating a sense of belonging for current and future members of the community.
- Bringing people together from across different groups in the community.
- Increasing pride in the local area.
Eligible costs include venue hire, volunteer expenses, activity materials, in-person and remote delivery costs, and overheads (up to 10% of the project total).
The deadline for applications is 25 June 2025 (noon).
