Volunteering advice and support
We're here to make volunteering stronger, easier, safer and more impactful across Sunderland.
On average there are four volunteers for every paid member of staff in a small charity! (https://smallcharitiesdata.org/). Volunteers are incredibly important within the voluntary sector and our society.
Whether you're an individual looking to volunteer, a community group seeking new recruits, or a business wanting to develop an employee volunteer programme, we can provide the guidance, resources and connections you need.
· Recruitment support - promoting volunteering opportunities and connecting you with potential volunteers.
· Good practice guidance - advice on policies, safeguarding, inclusion and volunteer management.
· Training and workshops - building skills for both staff and volunteers.
· Skills-building and pathways to employment - working with partners in supporting volunteers to gain confidence, experience and qualifications that can help in their careers.
· Networking opportunities - connecting organisations to share experiences, resources and solutions.
· Advocacy- representing the voluntary sector's voice to funders, local authorities and policymakers.
· Celebration - recognising and promoting the contribution of local volunteers.
